Job Summary:
The Director, Compensation & Benefits, is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and administration of Astound’s total rewards programs, ensuring they are competitive, compliant, cost-effective, and aligned with the company’s business objectives. This leader will direct and manage operational excellence across compensation, benefits, and recognition programs, supporting Astound’s ability to attract, engage, and retain top talent.
Reporting to the Vice President, Total Rewards, the Director will serve as a trusted advisor to people leaders and HR business partners, guiding and administering compensation and benefits policies, governance, and best practices. This individual will perform the evaluation of current programs, monitor industry trends, and recommend enhancements that balance business needs, and regulatory requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Program Leadership - Develop and maintain Astound’s compensation and benefits philosophy; ensure alignment with organizational goals and competitiveness in the marketplace.
• Compensation Design & Governance - Manage job evaluation, salary structures, incentive plans, and compensation programs; ensure consistent administration and alignment with performance objectives.
•Market Analysis & Benchmarking - Conduct comprehensive market analysis and participate in compensation surveys to ensure our pay ranges and total compensation packages are competitive within the industry.
• Benefits Management - Direct the administration of health, wellness, retirement, and leave plans; evaluate vendors, negotiate contracts, and monitor plan effectiveness to optimize cost and value.
• Leadership Support - Prepare materials and analyses as required for leadership regarding compensation and benefits program effectiveness, recommendations, and compliance.
• Market & Regulatory Compliance - Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local compensation and benefits laws and regulations; maintain governance frameworks and audit readiness.
• Analytics & Reporting - Lead the development and implementation/analysis of compensation and benefits analytics; evaluate program effectiveness and provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership on workforce trends, program impact and improvement opportunities.
• Leadership & Partnership - Collaborate with Finance, Legal, HR, and leadership to support business strategy, budget alignment, and effective communication of total rewards programs.
• Employee Communication - Drive communication and education initiatives to increase employee understanding and engagement with total rewards.
• Budget Management - Manage the compensation and benefits budget, conducting regular forecasting and cost analysis to ensure programs are financially sustainable.

Requirements/Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field required; Master’s degree and/or CCP certification preferred.
Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in compensation and benefits, including 5+ years in a leadership capacity within a complex, multi-site organization.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Expertise in compensation strategy, job architecture, incentive design, and benefits administration.
• Strong knowledge of compensation and incentive programs, as well as regulatory requirements (FLSA, ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, etc.).
• Demonstrated success in vendor management, contract negotiation, and plan design.
• Proficiency with HRIS systems, compensation tools, and market data providers (e.g., Paycom, Radford, Mercer, Willis Towers Watson).
• Exceptional analytical, financial modeling, and presentation skills; ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with senior leadership, build cross-functional partnerships, and lead high-performing teams.

Base Salary: The base salary range for this position is $135,000 - $175,000 (annually), plus opportunities for bonus and benefits. The base pay range represents the low and high end of the hiring range for this job. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to relevant skills, experience, and capabilities.
