Position Overview:
Sealing Technologies, a Parsons Company, is looking for an experienced and talented Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team of engineers delivering cutting-edge solutions in software integration, operations, and mission support. In this role, you will play a key part in driving engineering efforts across hardware and software integration, systems engineering, and security engineering. You will collaborate closely with both internal teams and customers to shape system architecture, develop engineering change requests, and create detailed implementation plans that ensure mission success.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform and lead advanced cybersecurity engineering tasks, including hands-on system configuration and testing.
  • Plan and allocate resources, coordinate activities, and engage with key stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Conduct research and perform technical analyses and testing with emphasis on network and cyber operations Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs), focusing on threats to networked space, cyberspace platforms, and U.S./DoD information networks.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the company to ensure technology standards, security controls, and engineering practices are well understood and consistently applied.
  • Provide support and technical guidance and documentation to staff across multiple locations, with a strong presence in Stevensville and Columbia, MD.
  • Partner with internal teams to deliver technical demonstrations and showcase SealingTech capabilities to customers.
  • Identify and define high-level functional and technical requirements by working with the user community and leveraging knowledge of existing DoD enterprise architectures.


    Minimum Qualifications:

    •  6+ years of experience in systems engineering (server hardware), systems architecture, and network security architecture.
    • 4+ years of experience with current defensive cyberspace TTPs, including at least 1 year within the past 2 years.
    • Strong knowledge of network hardware (switches/routers/firewalls) including initial setup, testing, and configuration.
    • Strong knowledge of server hardware including initial setup/installation, testing, and configuration.
    • Strong knowledge of Layer 1 networking concepts. (Ethernet and Fiber)
    • Understanding of infrastructure security, hardening processes, techniques, and
    • industry best practices.
    • Understanding of best practices for security patching, authentication, and log retention.
    • Experience operating within security frameworks to support compliance and auditing requirements.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document and maintain engineering processes and procedures.
    • Technical writing experience, with emphasis in a test environment.
    • U.S. Citizenship.

                Preferred Qualifications:

                  • Strong knowledge of core cybersecurity concepts, technologies, and methodologies.
                  • Experience with network protocols, virtualization, architecture design, and defense-in-depth practices.
                  • Hands-on experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Python, scripting).
                  • Familiarity with Flowtrac.
                  • Familiarity with Agile project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, and ServiceNow.
                  • Proficient in virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, OpenShift) and virtualization management platforms (e.g., vCenter, Kubernetes), including deployment and configuration of VMs and containers.
                  • Working knowledge of defensive cyber tools such as Splunk, Elastic, Zeek, Palo Alto, RedSeal, VMware, and related platforms.
                  • Experience supporting Defensive Cyber Operations within Service Cyber Command elements or other U.S. Government organizations.
                  • Certifications in Systems (e.g. Linux+, A+), Networking (e.g. Network+, CCNA), and Security (e.g. Security+, CISSP).
                  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field.
