Job Title: Strategic Buyer
Department: Integrated Supply Chain
Reports to: Procurement/Quality Manager

Summary:
The Strategic Buyer is part of the Lely North America Integrated Supply Chain team and plays a critical role in sourcing and purchasing activities that support our innovative agricultural solutions. This role focuses on balancing quality, delivery, and cost while ensuring strong supplier performance. This role will manage and strengthen supplier relationships, identify and develop new suppliers, conduct supplier visits, prepare reports, and drive process improvements. You will collaborate with Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, and the Corporate Purchasing Team in the Netherlands. This position offers the opportunity to influence supply chain excellence and contribute to Lely’s mission of advancing sustainable agriculture. Domestic and international travel may be required periodically.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Interface with suppliers to ensure all purchased items and services meet requirements for cost, availability, quality, reliability, and delivery schedules.
· Conduct supplier audits and capability studies; develop delivery and stocking agreements; and define tooling requirements and justifications.
· Develop and implement localization plans for key products (e.g., welded assemblies, electronics, plastic components)
· Collaborate with Engineering to provide accurate specifications and designs to suppliers.
· Maintain and update MRP systems to accurately reflect supplier agreements.
· Review and resolve invoice discrepancies in coordination with Accounts Payable.
· Participate in cross-functional meetings and training sessions involving Engineering, Buyers, or SOPs that impact purchasing.
· Support the Corporate Strategic Purchasing team with supplier transitions.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
· Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
· Minimum of 4 years of experience managing technical, complex, and high-value product groups.
· PC-Networking, Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Presentation Software, and Communication/Collaboration Tools.

· Knowledgeable in manufacturing processes, Lean Six Sigma methodology, and MRP systems.
· Proficient in warehouse inventory management, sales/marketing data analysis, and interpreting blueprints.
· Committed to driving results with a positive, initiative-taking approach.
