The Corporate Accounting Intern will support the Corporate Accounting team by assisting with day-to-day accounting responsibilities, contributing to special projects, and ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial processes. Through hands-on experience, the intern will develop practical accounting skills, gain exposure to corporate finance operations, and deepen their understanding of professional standards. In addition to daily contributions, the intern will complete an end-of-program project that adds value to the organization while showcasing their growth and achievements throughout the internship.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Accounting
- Support the preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and the accurate posting of transactions in the general ledger.
- Help manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including tracking payments, processing invoices, and ensuring accurate coding of expenses.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Assist in ensuring project budgets are adhered to.
- Assist with reconciling company bank accounts and credit card statements to ensure accuracy.
- Aid in the preparation of documents for internal or external audits and work with auditors as necessary.
- Perform financial data analysis and assist in preparing reports that highlight trends and financial performance.
- Support the accounting team in ensuring compliance with tax laws, company policies, and industry regulations.
- Provide general accounting and administrative support to the finance team, including organizing documents, filing, and managing records.

EDUCATION
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Accounting or a related field.
- Strong academic record, with a keen interest in accounting and real estate.
TALENTS
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (knowledge of formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis).
- Familiarity with accounting software (QuickBooks, Yardi, or similar) is advantageous.
- Knowledge of real estate development processes is a plus.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A proactive attitude and eagerness to learn about the real estate industry.
- Previous internship or work experience in accounting, finance, or real estate is a plus.
