Registered Nurse – Operating Room (OR) Travel Position
Location: Denver, CO
Job Type: Travel Contract
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 3×12s Days
Pay: $1,893.60/week (plus $2,200 completion bonus per contract, up to $6,600 after three contracts)
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse (RN) to join a healthcare facility in Denver, CO on a 13-week travel assignment. The RN will provide perioperative care for patients before, during, and after surgical procedures. The ideal candidate is proficient in circulating and/or scrub roles, detail-oriented, and committed to ensuring a safe and sterile environment for surgical patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide pre-, intra-, and post-operative nursing care to surgical patients.
- Prepare operating rooms by ensuring equipment, instruments, and supplies are available and sterile.
- Circulate during surgeries by assisting the surgical team and maintaining a sterile environment.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs, responses to anesthesia, and overall status during procedures.
- Administer prescribed medications, IV fluids, and assist with surgical site preparation.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other interdisciplinary team members to ensure seamless care.
- Document all assessments, interventions, and surgical outcomes accurately in the medical record.
- Adhere to infection control standards, safety protocols, and evidence-based perioperative practices.
Qualifications
- Current and valid RN license in Colorado (or compact eligibility).
- Minimum 1–2 years of recent OR nursing experience in an acute care setting.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS); ACLS and CNOR preferred.
- Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques, surgical procedures, and perioperative nursing standards.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
- Compassionate and adaptable approach to patient care.
- COVID-19 vaccine and recent tuberculosis test.
