In order to achieve this state of success, this individual will match credit union products and services to the specific needs of the member, and assist members with loan applications for credit approval or denial, recommend a loan, input documentation into the computer and process approved loans. A key component of this job will be to deepen relationships with our members that have come to Allegacy through non-traditional channels by increasing the average number of products and services per household.
Nature and Scope
This position involves the individual being able to multi-task and assist in several different functional areas of The Lending Center. It requires frequent interaction with financial centers, as directed by The Lending Center leadership to address individual/group lender training needs related to lending workflows within the organization’s LOS (Loan Operating System), lending guidelines, and credit union lending policies. This person will train new lending staff within the centralized lending area of The Lending Center, and maintain working instructions as needed. The role demands maintaining a solid working knowledge of lending policies and procedures to support workflow maintenance and efficiency. This person will be responsible for the analysis, breakdown, and refinement of lending processes and workflows in order to reveal barriers to peak efficiency and profitability. In addition, this person will assist with testing the organizations Loan Operating and Core Systems. The ideal candidate will possess a mindset focused on continuous improvement, process optimization, and stakeholder collaboration.
Specific Accountabilities:
- Deliver exceptional member service to every member, every time, by ensuring employees deliver consistently high-quality service to both internal and external members in alignment with our Brand Culture.
- Meet or exceed established service and efficiency goals, leveraging data insights to track progress and inform improvements.
- Ensure thorough understanding of expectations and consistently exhibit Allegacy behaviors.
- Address individual/group lender training needs related to lending workflows within the organization’s LOS.
- Process loan applications efficiently to ensure prompt examination of applicant’s credit worthiness and minimize risk to AFCU.
- Ensure loan closings are completed in a timely and compliant manner, adhering to all AFCU policies and procedures.
- Assist the indirect lending area as needed to maximize lending efficiency and service levels.
- Analyze lending workflows and use reporting tools to identify operational bottlenecks, recurring issues, or training gaps; recommend and implement solutions to optimize processes.
- Develop and monitor KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) to measure the effectiveness of implemented process changes and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to introduce improvements and test new workflow strategies before implementation.
- Assist in the processing and rollout of new loan product offerings, including gathering analytics to forecast adoption and performance.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director, Lending & Delivery
Requirements
Education and Experience
- Undergraduate degree in business or related degree preferred.
- Three to five years of related consumer lending experience with a comparable (asset size) financial institution.
- Experience working with Loan Director LOS and/or DNA Host System preferred.
- Previous exposure to Retail/Consumer loan operating systems utilizing interface application technology preferred.
- Specific training and knowledge associated with credit union lending concepts, procedures and documentation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Outstanding customer service skills, both internal and external.

- Ability to describe and sell AFCU products and services.
