About the Role
The position ensures all engagement activities are compliant with Commonwealth and ACT legislation, including the Telecommunications Act 1997 and relevant ACT planning and environmental requirements, while reflecting Service Stream’s commitment to transparency and accountability.
Key responsibilities:
In this role, the coordinator will:
- Proactively engage with ACT residents, stakeholders, and community groups to build and maintain constructive relationships.
- Manage and resolve enquiries, complaints, and compliments in a timely and professional manner.
- Provide guidance and support to project teams, drawing on a strong understanding of engagement processes, contractual obligations, and legal requirements relevant to the ACT.
- Coordinate, plan, and deliver community events, meetings, and site-based engagement activities specific to the ACT rollout.
- As part of the Land Access, Stakeholder & Community Engagement team, the coordinator also contributes to broader program objectives and may support other functions on an ad hoc basis. This role is critical in ensuring Service Stream’s ACT projects remain compliant while maintaining community trust and positive public sentiment.
- Identify and liaise with government, private authorities/individuals and other groups affected by proposed, current and previous projects
Create and implement efficient community engagement strategies to create positive sentiment of Service Stream and its clients
Receive, investigate and manage queries, complaints and compliments with relevant project and/or stakeholders
Government, Council, Body Corporate/, Building Management, End User, Complainant, Council Members of Public or other contact will be required
Work collaboratively within the Land Access, Stakeholder & Community Engagement team to support various projects across the business
Qualifications / Experience
Courteous and effective stakeholder communications skills essential
Experience in community engagement and/or escalated complaints management are highly desirable
Familiarity with ACT-specific legislation and or experience liaising with City and Environmental Directorate (CED, formally TCCS) is desirable
Previous experience in Project/Construction/Environmental background /experience desirable
IAP2 is not required but highly desirable
Located in ACT or vicinity
