Trilogy Federal is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Programmer to join our team. As a Senior Programmer, extensive experience is required in MUMPS (Massachusetts General Hospital Utility Multi-Programming System) database. Other than MUMPS expertise, this role requires expertise in relational database management systems (RDBMS) and structured query language (SQL), with a focus on extracting MUMPS data. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, experience in systems development methodologies, and a proven track record of working on complex projects.  

This role will ensure business requirements are effectively captured, analyzed, and translated into technical and operational solutions. This person will coordinate with program stakeholders and serve as a primary liaison between business operations and technical development teams. 
 
This position may require occasional travel in support of client needs and expectations.

This range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as Trilogy Federal conducts an individual equity review for every candidate based on experience, location, education, industry experience, and comparisons to internal pay bands. Primary Responsibilities:
  • Identify certain table in MUMPS database related to Claims Processing and Eligibility 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and understand the underlying model. 
  • Develop data dictionary for extracted data. 
  • Extract and transform data, as needed. 
  • Document all the steps involved in identification, extraction and transformation of data 
  • Collaborate with users and stakeholders to define system requirements, draft program specifications, and align technology solutions with business needs. 
  • Participate in developing work plans and organizing project resources for optimal performance. 
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers. 
  • Conduct in-depth program reviews to evaluate performance, effectiveness, outcomes, and alignment with strategic goals. 
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to developing actionable recommendations to enhance program performance. 
  • Assist in the execution and oversight of program operations to ensure alignment with defined objectives and performance benchmarks. 
  • Facilitate alignment between specialized design leads to ensure consistency, compatibility, and shared outcomes. 
  • Review technical deliverables across domains to ensure adherence to integration strategy, performance goals, and quality standards. 
  • Serve as the primary technical liaison for clients, aligning integration solutions with broader business, operational, and workplace goals. 
  • Lead multi-stakeholder workshops and presentations, clearly articulating integration priorities and constraints to both executive and technical audiences. 
  • Support interpretation of analytics and performance metrics across integrated systems. 


  • Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree required. 
  • Veteran Affairs Claims system/processing experience 
  • Minimum 8 years total experience. 
  • MUMPS (Massachusetts General Hospital Utility Multi-Programming System) database experience. 
  • Expertise in relational database management systems (RDBMS) and structured query language (SQL), with a focus on extracting MUMPS data. 
  • Agility and ability to change course based on shifting plans, priorities, and timelines. 
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, facilitation, and communication skills, including written, verbal, and interpersonal. 
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail. 
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently. 
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment focused on learning, opportunities for impact, and collaboration with colleagues. 
  • Proficient in the following MS Office Applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint. 
  • The ability to obtain Public Trust Clearance. 


  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • VA or Federal experience. 
  • Prior experience working in a healthcare organization (e.g., hospital, health system, health insurance company, military health etc.).
