Event Manager – Americas

Location: Daleville, Virginia. Partly remote is possible

Requires: Frequent travel across the Americas, and occasionally globally to support other regions.

About the Role:

Munters Data Center Technologies (DCT) is entering a new phase where events and trade shows are recognized as a growth engine. The Event Manager will take full ownership of all physical events in the Americas – from major international trade shows to smaller, targeted industry events.

This is a new role in the organization, created to bring structure, strategy, and measurable impact to our event activities. You will be part of the global marketing team led by the Global Marketing Manager, while working closely with sales leaders and account managers to ensure events translate into real business opportunities.

While the primary focus of this role is to own and lead events, we are a growing organization where flexibility and teamwork are key. From time to time, you may also support colleagues with other marketing-related requests. This requires a hands-on, service-minded personality who enjoys contributing wherever it creates value.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Event strategy & prioritization

    • Identify and evaluate relevant trade shows and industry events across the Americas.

    • In collaboration with sales and marketing, determine DCT’s level of participation (exhibitor vs. attendee).

  • End-to-end ownership

    • Plan, book, and manage all aspects of participation: stand design/build, logistics, travel, accommodation, campaigns, and supplier management.

    • Lead internal coordination across marketing and sales to ensure alignment and readiness ahead of each event.

    • Be present on-site to manage projects and ensure flawless execution.

  • Sales enablement

    • Map prospects ahead of each event and lead preparation meetings with sales teams to maximize lead generation and customer engagement.

    • Develop best practices for follow-up and activation before, during, and after events.

  • Measurement & optimization

    • Build a framework for measuring event ROI and impact on business growth.

    • Collect, analyze, and present event data and insights to support future decision-making.

    • Continuously identify improvements in process, activation, and team effectiveness.

  • Collaboration & expansion

    • Act as the main point of contact for Americas events, while also supporting other regions until equivalent roles are established in EMEA and APAC.

    • Work closely with the Global Marketing Manager to build scalable structures, budgets, and processes for the long-term.

Qualifications

  • Experience of managing large-scale trade shows or physical events (B2B, technology, or industrial markets preferred).

  • Strong project management skills; able to handle multiple events simultaneously with attention to detail.

  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and external vendors.

  • Strong negotiation and vendor management experience (stand builders, agencies, suppliers).

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Experience setting budgets and tracking ROI.

  • Comfortable making decisions and solving problems under pressure, on-site.

  • Fluent in English (written and spoken); Spanish or Portuguese is a plus.

  • Willingness to travel frequently across the Americas.

Personal qualities

  • Naturally collaborative and service-minded; willing to go the extra mile to support colleagues when needed, even outside the strict scope of events.

  • Proactive, structured, and self-driven with a passion for making things happen.

  • Curious and eager to build new processes and best practices from the ground up.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with CRM, marketing automation, or event management platforms.

  • Experience establishing new structures/processes in an international organization.

  • Certifications (CMP, CEM) are a plus.

  • Experience in Digital Marketing
