The Assistant Professor in the Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism and Genetics within the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Kansas Medical Center will provide high-quality patient care through outpatient clinics, inpatient consultations, and on-call services. The role includes teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows in both clinical and classroom settings, as well as contributing to the division’s research efforts through clinical trials and grant-supported studies. In addition, the Assistant Professor will actively participate in divisional, departmental, and school faculty activities.Job Description:
Job Duties Outlined:
Provide patient care in ambulatory clinic, inpatient consults and on-call services. Model best practices for diagnosis and treatment of illnesses and conditions.
Complete appropriate documentation of patient encounters for medical follow-up and timely billing.
Instruct medical students, residents and fellows in clinical and classroom settings. Coach and guide learners appropriate to their educations level. Evaluate learner's progress.
Contribute to various research activities of the Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism and Genetics. Research could include trials or grant funded studies.
Participate in Division, Department, and School faculty activities as allowed by schedule constraints.

Required Qualifications:
Education:
- MD, DO, or foreign degree equivalent. Graduate of an accredited program in Endocrinology.
This position requires a formal degree in the cited discipline area(s) to ensure that candidates have the foundational knowledge and skill set required to perform the duties of the position. The level of degree is based on accreditation requirements, institutional standards of academic and professional excellence, alignment with peer institution benchmarks, and contributes to the credibility and effectiveness of the role within the university community.
Certification/Licensure:
- Hold, or eligible for, a Kansas medical license.
- Board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine.
