Summary of Role:
GLOBALFOUNDRIES Fab8, Malta, NY, seeks a Facilities Electrical System Engineer. Deliver Facilities operation & engineering services, building/office space management services, and facilities equipment asset maintenance management to enable manufacturing operations. You will be responsible for ongoing operations and working on the design, construction, and startup of GLOBALFOUNDRIES electrical systems in support of our wafer fabrication facility. Additionally, you will operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and ensure continuous improvements to our facilities electrical systems and ensure regulatory compliance with all city, state, and federal guidelines.
Essential Responsibilities:
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot the power distribution system starting at the 115kV incoming power from National Grid into the GlobalFoundries HV yard, down to the 120V services to the office space.
Maintains and secures electrical facilities and equipment assets. Work with the maintenance team (both electrical and inter-discipline) and ensure constant uptime of all electrical systems by coordinating maintenance, repair, and system improvement activities.
Interface closely with design and engineering teams to ensure projects meet operational electrical needs, ensure maintainability of electrical systems, ensure smooth startups of electrical systems that are seamless to fab operations.
Explore ways to control costs while sustaining and improving operational systems for fab operations.
Provide electrical system support to all facilities teams and fab modules.
Conducts periodic inspections of work in progress and advises construction supervisors and contractors on plans and specifications.
Coordinate and work with project teams, electrical engineers, electrical technicians, and contractors as required.
Ensure regulatory compliance with all city, state, and federal guidelines.
Perform all activities safely and responsibly and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements.
Uses standard engineering methods to analyze and resolve problems.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering + 2 years of relevant experience or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
Ability to effectively interface with functional teams, customers, contractors, and suppliers.
Strong organizational skills: ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and able to react to shifting priorities to meet business needs.
Language Fluency – English (Written & Verbal)
Preferred Qualifications:
Have experience as a Field Engineer, Power Systems Engineer, or Engineer Trainee in the Semiconductor, Power, or Related Position
Ability to work with cross-discipline facilities teams.
Proven experience with Easy Power or similar software for power distribution systems
Experience in low, medium, and high voltage electrical systems supplying all manufacturing equipment, central plant operations, and support equipment with a preference for experience in the semiconductor industry.
Experience with maintenance management system (MMS) software, like SAP

Expected Salary Range
$54,200.00 - $110,300.00The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.
