Opportunity Overview

Team Overview:
The Lead, Human Capital Portfolio Operations role plays a pivotal role in enabling operational execution across the human capital portfolio. This role is responsible for
overseeing expenditure, headcount, contingent labor, resource allocation, and vendor relationships for the Human Capital Division. The ideal candidate brings deep
operational expertise, strong analytical acumen, a systems thinking mindset, an integrated view, and a continuous improvement mindset to drive efficiency and effectiveness
to the delivery of the Human Capital portfolio and business plan. This role will work closely with associates and leaders across the Human Capital Enablement team to
integrate portfolio processes, key organizational inputs, data and reporting resulting in efficiency, effectiveness, and a holistic view of the operation.

What You'll Do:
  • Expenditure & Budget Management – Partner with finance to: lead the planning, forecasting, and monitoring of budgets across human capital initiatives, ensure accurate tracking, reporting, and optimization of spend, implement controls to ensure financial discipline.
  • Headcount Management – manage headcount request/replacement and reporting processes for the Human Capital division to inform decision-making and effective utilization and governance of headcount.
  • Contingent Workforce Oversight – oversee contingent labor (staff augmentation and statement of work) forecasting processes and expense tracking and management processes to ensure effective utilization and governance of external labor resources.
  • Resource & Labor Management – optimize resource allocation across human capital programs and initiatives, support labor planning and utilization strategies to meet evolving business needs, drive operational efficiency through data-driven insights.
  • Vendor & Contract Management – manage vendor relationships and performance for human capital-related services, oversee contract administration and service level compliance, and vendor evaluation.
  • Operational Excellence & Process Design – lead process improvement initiatives within the HC strategy and planning function, team, and processes to enhance service delivery, design and implement scalable, standardized processes in service to delivering on the human capital portfolio and business plan, and leverage data and analytics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.

Position Requirements

What Experience You'll Need:
  • 6+ years of experience working with HRIS systems and job-related tools, including:
    • Proven experience managing budgets, vendors, and cross-functional processes
    • Understanding of how to design and manage efficient business operations, especially within HR and workforce contexts
    • Expertise in planning, forecasting, and monitoring budgets, with a focus on cost optimization and financial discipline
    • Ability to manage vendor relationships, contracts, and performance to ensure service quality and compliance
    • Skills in allocating and optimizing labor and resources across projects and initiatives
    • Proficiency in developing scalable, efficient, and standardized business processes
    • Ability to extract insights from data, identify trends, and support decision-making with evidence-based analysis

**Candidates that live within in a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday.**
 

Current INTERNAL home-based associates: While this role is posted as hybrid, if selected and accepted, you may retain your home-based status. Edward Jones intends in good faith to continue offering the role as home-based, though future business or regulatory needs may require on-site work.
 

 


 

Salary Information

Edward Jones' compensation and benefits package includes medical and prescription drug, dental, vision, voluntary benefits (such as accident, hospital indemnity, and critical illness), short- and long-term disability, basic life, and basic AD&D coverage. Short- and long-term disability, basic life, and basic AD&D coverage are provided at no cost to associates. Edward Jones offers a 401k retirement plan, and tax-advantaged accounts: health savings account, and flexible spending account. Edward Jones observes ten paid holidays and provides 15 days of vacation for new associates beginning on January 1 of each year, as well as sick time, personal days, and a paid day for volunteerism.  Associates may be eligible for bonuses and profit sharing.
