Job purpose
Provides engineering support through a structured method of combining classroom-based education with practical work experience, receiving academic credit for the job experience.
Duties and responsibilities
- Create CAD models and drawings of products, production tooling, inspection fixtures, and special equipment.
- Assist in assembling tools and magnetic assemblies. Readily assist production, engineering, and floor operators as required.
- Engineering Co-Op will be expected to complete a key project and present findings to management during their Co-Op block(s).
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Requires enrollment for a BS or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering or other related engineering discipline.
- Experience using CAD software, Solidworks heavily preferred.
- Experience reading and creating mechanical drawings, knowledge of GD&T desired.
- Previous work experience in a manufacturing type environment desired.
Working conditions
- May be exposed to industrial oils, toner, coolants, solvents, lubricants, adhesive and other chemicals. NOTE: All safety precautions will be used.
- Could work in areas with excessive noise. NOTE: Ear protection available.
- Plant wide climate control and air conditioning
- Shift: 8:00AM to 5:00PM Mon-Fri, 1hr lunch
- Ability to work beyond normal hours if needed
Physical requirements
- Could require intermittent and long periods of sitting and/or standing.
- Required to do repetitive work.
- Periodic lifting of materials not to exceed 50 pounds.
