Campus Federal Credit Union is seeking a Business Development Officer for our New Orleans region.   The primary purpose of this position is to assist Campus Federal in our Mission, to enhance the lives of our members and the communities we serve. This is accomplished by providing excellent service to team members of Campus Federal.  

This position will implement a business development strategy focused on financial growth, financial education and community service, stakeholder engagement, membership development and growth program for our Select Employee Groups (SEGs), Louisiana State University (all campuses), FMOL Health System, Foundation partners, and other public relation initiatives that support the CFCU Mission throughout the field of membership that meets the strategic objectives of the credit union.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist Vice President of Business Development & Community Relations with member recruitment, conducting and planning sales events/meetings, budgeting, and coordinating special events and sponsor donations to provide optimum exposure and awareness. 
  • Serves as liaison between Campus Federal and the Campuses (LSU, FMOL, LSU Health System  and FRAN U)
  • Plan, coordinate and represent Campus Federal at membership drives, orientations and registrations for existing SEG’s and campuses throughout the assigned Campuses (including LSU, LSU Health System, FMOL, and FRAN U, as well as sponsor related events)
  • Coordinate Annual Meeting, Annual Open Houses, and Ambassador Meetings in assigned area.
  • Manage Sponsor Integration efforts and input contact information on a daily basis into designated CRM system.
  • Volunteer in assigned community and campuses in areas that support the mission of Campus Federal Credit Union.  
  • Provide reports to designated supervisor for contacts, opportunities, community, financial education, event support, Marketing, performance review and various expense related reports
  • Develop an extensive list of contacts both within and beyond the scope of the human resources departments on various campuses. 
  • Manage Contact and maintain favorable relationships with managers/representatives of existing SEGs, LSU related campuses for coordinating employee benefits and employee/faculty orientation programs.
  • Promote business for the Credit Union by maintaining good member relations and referring members to appropriate in-house personnel and Credit Union affiliates for new services
  • Maintain, reconcile and update assigned area Business Development Budget.  Work with designated supervisor on gathering materials for donation requests and evaluating potential projects to benefit Campus Federal.    
  • Control all aspects of Community/Employee Service Programs assigned sponsored events including coordination, securing volunteers, and reporting Service Solutions program events in appropriate programs in a timely manner
  • Provide feedback to Marketing and designated supervisor regarding campaigns, potential community partnerships, and other marketing aspects that enhance the Campus Federal brand and image
  • Maintain rudimentary knowledge of business lending products/general underwriting guidelines and more in depth knowledge of business deposit products to bring in new business members 
  • Work with Consumer Services on various service issues, outages, etc. involving their staff.
  • Provide and keep current collateral materials for employee groups, LSU System contacts, and individual contacts including ambassadors to use in benefit announcements, supply for employee requests and new employee orientation packets.
  • Develop and maintain a highly engaged and representative group of Ambassadors on each campus to promote the benefits of the credit union across all campus communities.
  • Plan sponsor/public relation events including conducting financial education seminars.   Secure location, coordinate and secure speakers (sometime serve in the capacity) and Campus Federal representation; plan food and refreshments; assist with implementing advertising; report on success of event, handle requests for donations and track the same
  • Develop and implement programs that extend the reach of the Financial Education Program for the campuses of LSU, OLOL, and the surrounding communities when an opportunity is available.
  • Coordinate various community events with strategic community partners to enhance Campus Federal’s mission and relations related to the assigned campuses.  
  • Business Development Officers may be assigned other departmental duties – Business Service Account Management, Mortgage Account Management or other duties as needed to assist with Campus Federal strategic goals within assigned region.  

Education and Experience:

  • 4-year degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field 
  • 5 years of sales or public relations experience
