About the role: Second in Charge (2IC) — Maximum‑Term, Part‑Time

We’re looking for a maximum‑term, part‑time Second in Charge Educator for our Fairy Meadow Fun Club & OSHC service located at Fairy Meadow Demonstration School. What makes this service special is the warm, homely space within the school. We have strong connections with families, children, and community, and an utmost focus on inclusion for all children.

We treasure the expertise of our educators

As the Second in Charge, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering quality care and education to school-aged children. Your insights and creativity will help shape a vibrant and engaging environment. Building respectful, long-lasting relationships with parents, carers, and fellow educators will be at the heart of your role. Collaborating closely with the Director, you'll have the opportunity to infuse your ideas into the programs designed for the children. Together, you'll ensure the service upholds Big Fat Smile's policies, aligns with the National Quality Framework, and adheres to Child Protection legislation.

What you need to succeed 

  • A cleared and validWorking With Children Check (WWCC)
  • Diploma of Children's Services or related qualification (desirable) 
  • Experience working with school‑aged kids—whether in a school, as an educator, a support role (SLSO), or as a 2IC
  • Outstanding skills in communication with families and the community
  • Demonstrated commitment to work health and safety
