Position Summary

The Company Manager is responsible for the day-to-day running of the cast (including actors/musicians), stage management and the live immersive show operations. A key figure within the management team on site, this role focuses on cast welfare, scheduling, communication between departments, and ensuring the overall functionality and consistency of the immersive guest experience.


You’ll be the go-to person for the immersive cast and a key support for the Operations Manager, maintaining a positive and professional working environment while handling the logistical and operational needs of the company. This role is central to ensuring the immersive show runs on time, safely, and in a way that allows performers to thrive, while guests remain fully engaged in the world we create.

Scope & Responsibilities

Oversee the daily running of immersive cast, actors/musicians stage management, and backstage operations

Act as the first point of contact for cast welfare, scheduling, and HR-related queries

Manage call times, performance reports, and backstage coordination to keep the immersive experience consistent

Ensure cast and actors/musicians have access to support, breaks, and wellbeing resources

Work closely with the Performance Manager and Technical team to ensure seamless immersive show delivery

Manage rehearsal schedules, sickness cover, and annual leave for cast and actors/musicians, supporting both performance and guest interaction standards

Conduct backstage and front-of-house walk-throughs to ensure areas are safe, maintained, and show-ready

Lead immersive pre-show briefings and end-of-show handovers, ensuring cast are aligned with performance notes and guest experience goals

Support show-specific policy enforcement, wellbeing initiatives, and safeguarding protocols

Be part of the Duty Management team when required, representing both guest and cast needs

Manage and perform Stage Management tracks where required to ensure coverage during operational hours. 

Ensure company wide management of NAs to prevent circumstances of understaffing and to communicate these efficiently with cast and company. 


Background & Experience

Previous experience in company or stage management roles within immersive theatre, live music, or interactive performance

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with an ability to balance guest-facing priorities and backstage needs

Experience handling cast and crew logistics in theatre, live music, or immersive event environments

Musical skillset/knowledge/understanding (to support actor/musicians and liaise effectively with creative and musical departments)

Experience supporting performers in guest-facing immersive roles, with awareness of improvisation and world-building requirements

Experience dealing with large and varied company sizes, working on different operational schedules. 

Confident with HR policies and processes and ability to handle conversations professionally and discreetly. 


Desired Attributes

Minimum 5 years' experience in a supervisory or company management role.

A calm, diplomatic approach and excellent people skills.

A clear understanding of backstage operations, cast needs, and the unique demands of immersive theatre and actors/musician performance.

Confidence in supporting immersive actors and actors/musicians and stage assistants, ensuring consistency of performance, guest interaction, and atmosphere.

Able to juggle competing priorities in a high-energy, guest-facing environment.

100% Flexible (evening and weekend work required)
