JOB TITLE: SEN Casework Assistant

WORKER TYPE: Hybrid 

HOURS/DURATION: Permanent, 18.5 hours per week

Starting Salary is £26,842 (Level one), rising to £27,694 per annum (pro rata for part-time)

About the role

  • To provide comprehensive casework management and administrative support to ensure the effectiveness of the Special Educational Needs Service. Casework Assistants will hold a caseload of pupils with special educational needs, and their role is to support the fulfilment of the statutory function of the local authority.
  • Casework Assistants will provide support to Casework Officers on casework issues involving written and oral communication with parents and a range of professionals, including school staff, Educational Psychologists, Medical Officers, Social Workers and LA Officers.

About you... 

The ideal candidate will have: -

  • A good knowledge of administrative practices and procedures. 
  • Ability to learn the work of the Children and Families Department, including an awareness of SEN policies in Nottingham. 
  • Experience in liaising with colleagues and professionals across a range of service areas. 
  • Experience in the use of database systems and software packages. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with a variety of people. 

The role is hybrid, with the expectation to complete one day in the office per week. The post holder must be willing to work at any location within the city and travel within and outside the city to meet the requirements of the role, however, the primary office location will either be Loxley House or Woolsthorpe Depot
