Location: Hemlock, MI
Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Hemlock, MI
Pay Rate: Based on experience
Work Hours: M-F 8am-5pm
Education: Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred (manager will consider candidates without a degree who have additional years of relevant experience)

 

Description
The Buyer III leads the development and execution of Global Supply Management (GSM) Strategic Sourcing strategies, policies, tactics, and objectives for assigned complex global commodities that align with business units, commercial, supply chain, and manufacturing strategies. This role primarily supports the MT&E division in managing capital equipment purchases, supporting projects, and related activities, as well as supporting some areas of the Technology Community (R&D).

 

Requirements
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Buyer in a manufacturing facility
• Strong knowledge of supply chain, sourcing, and procurement practices
• Ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers and stakeholders
• Strong contract writing and management skills
• Experience developing and executing sourcing strategies
• Ability to build and maintain supplier relationships
• U.S. citizenship or national status required due to ITAR facility compliance

 

Required Qualifications

 

Education
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree

 

Qualifications
• Experience in manufacturing procurement
• Proficiency in supplier relationship management and sourcing strategy development
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex procurement projects
• Strong communication and influencing skills
• Proven ability to deal with ambiguity and work strategically

 

Role Purpose
• Develop and execute sourcing plans and objectives (short & long term) based on demand forecasts, market trends, and business needs
• Prepare and solicit bids, quotations, and proposals with relevant specifications, terms, and conditions
• Review and develop specifications, statements of work, and acceptance criteria
• Conduct supplier negotiations to maximize value and cost savings
• Lead development and communication of global supply intelligence
• Own the Supplier Relationship Management process for assigned commodities
• Champion and ensure compliance with Global Buying Policy
• Develop, maintain, and execute Shared Objectives and Service Level Agreements
