The Talent Management Team plays a pivotal role within the Human Capital department, providing recruitment and hiring expertise, strategic support, and people-focused career development guidance to all of VGM's business units. We are currently looking to add an experienced talent specialist or recruiter to our team in order to support a variety of hiring efforts and talent needs across all of VGM.
Position Summary: People-centric thought leadership is at the heart of the Talent Specialist role at VGM. Our talent team supports leaders building teams, employees creating their future and candidate’s enjoying the hiring experience at VGM. The talent specialist is the recruitment lead on assigned open positions within VGM. As a talent professional one engages in strong relations and communication with the hiring managers, talent advisors and professional networks. The talent specialist plays a critical role in ensuring that VGM is hiring key contributors to our organization. By employing traditional sourcing strategies, along with developing new and creative recruiting channels, the talent acquisition specialist will be expected to research new job requisitions and strategize on effective and creative recruiting tactics on a per role basis. Qualifying, screening, interviewing, providing feedback and working with decision makers are daily responsibilities to be expected. Representing VGM Group, one will build strong relationships both inside and outside the company and engage in community relations and outreach with professionalism.

Working Location: On-site in Waterloo, Iowa preferred
Working Hours Classification: Full-Time, 8am-5pm CST Monday-Friday with additional hours as needed to meet business requirements
Responsibilities/Duties of the Job
Recruitment, Talent Acquisition, and Hiring Expertise
- Lead the end-to-end hiring lifecycle by managing job requisitions, partnering with hiring teams, executing tailored recruitment strategies, ensuring timely and high-quality communication, and acting as a talent acquisition expert, providing insight aligned with VGM's workforce needs
- Partner with talent partners to communicate with applicants throughout the interview process to create a positive and impactful experience for both candidates and hiring leaders
- Utilize the applicant tracking system efficiently to maintain database of accurate candidate information
- Consult with hiring managers to identify position needs and deliver customized recruitment services based on needs
- Support the hiring manager through the complete hiring process
- Provide hiring managers with timely communication and follow-up on respective recruiting status
- Provide expertise to manage a seamless hiring process for both hiring managers and job candidates
- Prequalify applicants, perform screening interviews, and make sound decisions to ensure hiring managers meet with quality candidates
- Provide a positive and impactful experience to the candidate
- Maintain efficient and accurate use of the applicant tracking system
Employer Branding
- Build talent pipelines through deepening community relationships, academic institutions networking groups, organizations etc.
- Represent VGM positively and professionally at job fairs, networking opportunities, and community events
- Participate in enhancing our brand marketing plans with promotional material development and social media tools. Recommend and implement improvements and new approaches
Thought Leadership
- Explore forward thinking recruitment and hiring strategies
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of the processes from candidate to hire and implement solutions when appropriate
- Use various tracking tools to manage the recruitment process, accurately entering data and generating reports. Provides research and reporting to support progressive actions, supports implementation of actions
- Maintain knowledge of legal and regulatory updates as they relate to talent management processes and procedures to keep compliant
- For all listed responsibilities the Talent Specialist works under minimal supervision, provides exceptional customer service always. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor or Associates degree - Business or Human Resources education ideal
- 2+ years of experience in a recruitment or talent acquisition role where reviewing resumes, prequalifying candidates, interviewing and hiring were key responsibilities
Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, comfort and confidence with public speaking
- Must be fluent in Microsoft systems and technical adept
- Use of Applicant Tracking systems, ADP WorkforceNow and/or UKG knowledge preferred
- Ability to handle confidential matters with maturity and professionalism
- Builder of rapport inside and outside of the organization through trust, confidence and credibility
- Relationship builder with a strong professional network of peers
- Must show and be able to work independently without supervision
Physical Requirements:
- Operation of office equipment and using technology efficiently such as computers, phones, misc. office equipment
- Visual abilities to include reading, distance vision and peripheral vision
- Moving throughout the VGM facilities when needed
- Occasional work required outside of regular business hours
- Travel required rare occasions, a few times a year at most
Compensation Overview: The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.
