The Senior Adviser will be responsible for programmatic, project management work, and supporting the Global Public Finance Co-Manager (Bronwen Tucker) in the management of the Global Public Finance team for the duration of Laurie van der Burg’s maternity leave.
For this role we will prioritize applications from people based in a CET/WAT compatible time zone.

Responsibilities
- Managing and designing team processes, including supporting annual planning and strengthening internal ways of working;
- Leading project management for specific campaign activities, such as increasing (legal) accountability for public finance support for fossil fuels; domestic fossil fuel subsidy phase-out; growing fair public finance for a just transition;
- Supporting relevant civil society coalitions, taking on coordination and facilitation as needed;
- Supporting team members in their fundraising efforts, maintaining relationships with existing funders and grant reporting;
- Line management responsibilities of some Global Public Finance team members.
About You
- You have at least 8 years experience in campaigning and advocacy efforts with a track record of impact using a wide range of tactics, including research and analysis, direct advocacy, communications and popular mobilization;
- You have at least 3 years of experience in a senior role involving strategy development, campaign execution, and project management, preferably in the climate and energy space;
- You are experienced at facilitation, agenda design, and strategic process design in a variety of team, organizational, and coalition settings;
- You are skilled at team management, supporting multidisciplinary teams through the creation and delivery of clear workplans focused on measurable objectives;
- You have strong familiarity with climate, energy, and financial policy, specifically issues around climate litigation, fossil fuel extraction and infrastructure, public and private financing of fossil fuels, and/or just transition policies;
- You have strong personnel management skills, experienced in supporting direct reports to deliver campaigns in a way that is both sustainable and strategic;
- You are an excellent communicator (both verbal and written communications) and have strategic communications experience, such as: writing press releases, and developing other communications materials (emails to supporters, drafting social media materials, writing op-eds, etc.);
- You have experience working successfully to support coalitions and coordinating with civil society partners and other relevant actors;
- You have experience managing grants, including writing proposals and grant reports;
- You have sensitivity to issues of privilege, class, gender and race, and dedication to incorporating principles of justice into organizational and campaign work;
- You have a demonstrated commitment to the mission of Oil Change International, social and environmental justice, a passion for advocacy and campaigning, and a collaborative, team-oriented work style.
