Description

SUMMARY

  • Responsible for the daily setup and operation of the laser machine. This position may require overtime to include weekends.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform daily machine startup and shutdown procedures on the laser equipment.
  • Stage raw materials at each work-center for the day’s production.
  • Load and unload machines.
  • Ensure production schedule follow through as allocated by the scheduling department.
  • Perform minor maintenance and cleaning of cutting equipment and work area in accordance with company standards and manufacture machine recommendations.
  • Perform some machine alignments procedures, optic cleaning to keep equipment at peak operating performance.
  • Assist with training of new hires on machine functions and shop processes.
  • Monitoring assist and resonator gas levels and recommend supply requirements for daily production.
  • Run multiple machines simultaneously, if required.
  • May be required to work off shifts as needed.

Requirements

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge skills and abilities. Three or more years experience operating CO2 laser and/or CNC cutting machines.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
