EMPLOYMENT TERMS: Full-time position
PRIMARY DUTY: The Business Analyst – Finance & HR Information Systems (FHRIS) will collaborate with the Enterprise Applications Team and key business offices at Northwest Missouri State University, including Human Resources and Finance (Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Purchasing, Payroll, etc.) to support and optimize Workday, with a primary focus on the Workday HCM and Workday Financial Management suites, as well as other enterprise applications across campus.
Position Duties
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Serve as the liaison between the Finance divisions and the Enterprise Applications team. Lead efforts to implement technology-driven process improvements using Workday HCM, Payroll, Procurement, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and other related modules.
2. Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for relevant Workday modules. Participate in cross-functional meetings to identify business needs, configure Workday solutions, and deliver optimized business workflows.
3. Provide both functional and technical support for Workday HCM (Core HR, Benefits, Compensation, Talent Management, Payroll), and Workday Financials (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Purchasing, Procurement, Expense, and Budgeting).
4. Identify inefficiencies in business processes and recommend improvements through system configuration, business process development, or automation. Maintain documentation of business processes, system configurations, and integration points.
5. Manage and support third-party integrations with Workday.
6. Lead and/or assist in the implementation of Workday feature releases and ongoing system maintenance (quarterly, monthly, and weekly). Is responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing test scripts, new feature validation, and end-user training.
7. Continuously evaluate Finance and HR operations for opportunities to streamline and improve business processes through better use of Workday capabilities.
8. Prioritize and manage multiple initiatives while maintaining consistent, clear communication with both functional and technical stakeholders.
9. Ensure all changes are properly documented, reviewed and approved in the Change Management System prior to implementing.
10. Ensure the timely delivery of system enhancements, configuration changes, and support requests by coordinating with both internal and external Workday support resources.
11. Serve as a backup to the Business Analyst – Student Information Systems, providing support for Workday Student modules—including Student Records, Academic Advising, Financial Aid, and Student Financials—as needed. Assist with issue resolution, testing, and cross-functional coordination to ensure continuity of service during absences or peak workload periods.
12. Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university
Experience:
· Demonstrated experience in business process analysis, preferably within Human Resources and/or Finance.
· Hands-on experience supporting or implementing Workday HCM and/or Workday Financial Management modules.
Skills:
· Strong analytical problem-solving skills
· Proactive self-starter with a focus on results and process improvement
· Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
· Ability to learn and adapt to new software applications and tools quickly
Other Qualifications
WORKING CONDITIONS: This position will work the normal hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with an hour lunch break. This position may be flexible with the hours worked to include nights and weekends when needed. This position has the capability to work on campus or include remote work.
EQUIPMENT/MATERIALS USED: Computers, Ellucian Banner software, along with their third-party integrations
