POSITION OVERVIEW
The Assistant Live Goods Coordinator supports the Live Goods Coordinator by facilitating communication between the Growing, Sales, and Operations departments. This role helps assess greenhouse space, inventory levels, and product availability each week, providing accurate information to support production scheduling, sales, and capacity planning. By keeping these functions aligned, the Assistant helps ensure customers receive high-quality plants, delivered on time and in full.
Requirements
Plant Availability & Scheduling
- Gain a thorough understanding of plant inputs and finished products at The Plant Company.
- Prepare weekly reports on plant availability for internal programs (e.g., Terrariums, H2O) and external programs (e.g., Home Depot, Grocery).
- Collaborate with Scheduling & Purchasing Managers on production schedules and liner order shipments.
- Ensure order timelines, quality, and quantities are met.
- Identify and communicate variances in grow times to the Growing team.
- Provide alternatives to the Live Goods Coordinator if shortages arise.
- Ensure shipping, grading, and production results are accurately reflected in inventory.
- Coordinate weekly greenhouse space allocation with Growing and communicate task requirements to Operations.

Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Biology, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in commercial growing, live goods, or inventory management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong organizational, communication, and decision-making skills; able to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged standing, walking, bending, stooping, and squatting.
- Ability to occasionally lift/move up to 35 pounds.
- Must be able to work in varying weather conditions, including heat, humidity, and exposure to greenhouse noise and allergens.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
