We offer competitive wages starting at $17.50 per hour (with no experience). In addition we have an excellent benefit package that includes; paid vacation, sick, holidays & floating holidays, medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, and a 401K for full time employees (30+ hours/wk).
Job Overview
The Personalized Activities Specialist assists with the day to day delivery of resident-centered activities and programs for our senior community. Under the supervision and direction of the Activities and Volunteer Coordinator, the Personalized Activities Specialist will be working with residents creating activities (physical, spiritual, social and emotional).
Work AM or PM hours. Also, every 4th weekend (day or evening shift).
Job Duties
Essential Duties: Activities Program
• Assists in maintaining a balanced resident centered activity program (physical, spiritual, social and emotional) for our senior community following the Activity Program.
• Conducts and/or assists with planned resident activities, programs and services from one on one up to 32 residents.
• Assists, invites and encourages residents to participate in activities.
• Assists residents to and from the activity areas as necessary.
• Documents resident participation per regulations.
• Maintains activity areas in an orderly manner
• Assists in maintaining an inventory of activity and programming supplies, games, programs and craft services.
• As applicable, responsible for daily care of any animals and/or plants within the activities program and services.
Essential Duties: Resident Focus
• Reviews & reads Logs to document and learn information about resident’s physical and behavioral changes as well as activities information.
• Fosters positive resident relations; responds to resident requests and directs resident feedback and requests to immediate supervisor.
• Reviews the ISP (Individualized Service Plan), Resident Profile and Addendums for every new resident.
• Maintains and protects the confidentiality of resident information.
• Partners with community team to ensure community is following OSHA requirements and promotion of Risk Management programs and policies; adherence to safety rules and regulations.
• Practices safety procedures at all times including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), fire extinguishers, MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
Qualifications
• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactory
• One year job related experience preferred in a senior living community setting
• Ability to work semi-independently
• Ability to lead activities with residents that have high energy and/or challenging behaviors
• Ability to handle multiple priorities
• Possess written and verbal skills for effective communication and the ability to facilitate small group presentations
• Competent in organizational, time management skills
• Demonstrates good judgment, problem solving and decision making skills
• Ability to make responsible choices and decisions and act in a resident’s best interest
• Ability to work semi-independently without direct supervision by following community procedures and guidelines and can follow through on assigned tasks
• Demonstration of proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft Office (Windows, Outlook, Excel), with the ability to learn new applications
