Summary of Duties: The purpose of a Database Administrator is to design, develop, implement, maintain, monitor, and modify student information system databases, applications, and related interfaces; analyze departmental and individual requirements for database solutions; document system components and user instructions; provide technical support to district and site staff.
This job reports to the Director of Information Technology.
Education/Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information systems or business, including coursework in programming including structured query language (SQL), network administration and data communications, and two years of increasingly responsible experience in the design and sharing of inter-networked hardware/software resources.
Required Documents
SPECIAL INFORMATION: Offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a drug test, TB test, fingerprinting and may include a physical exam. The physical and drug screen are paid for by the District. The candidate's portion of the fingerprint fee is $40.00. Approved recent DMV H-6 printout prior to employment.
OPEN TESTING – Open to employees of the District with the selection process resulting in one (1) Eligibility List that will be used to fill current vacancies and any future vacancies that occur within one (1) year. Current permanent employees of the District will be awarded seniority points as per the contract.
All properly completed applications will be reviewed and the most appropriately qualified individuals will be invited to continue in the selection process. The process may consist of an evaluation and scoring of application materials, written testing, oral interview and/or performance test to evaluate the applicant’s skill, training and experience.
The EdJoin system will time-out after a 20 minute period of perceived inactivity. Your responses to the supplemental questions are limited to 5,000 characters.
Requirements / Qualifications
VUSD
LICENSE REQUIREMENT: Valid California Driver's License and good driving record. Selected candidates will be required to provide a recent DMV H-6 printout. This classification requires a current Cisco Certified Network Associate Certification at the time of hire or an equivalent combination of experience and knowledge.
A resume and letter of introduction is required in addition to the completed application. Questions answered with "see resume" will be considered incomplete.
Salary Info
Range 67: $37.00- $40.84/hour. Advance step placement, up to step 3, may be considered based on previous experience and education. Current employees promotional rules apply.
