Summary
Setup and operate a CNC machine tool in accordance with the standard operating procedures (SOP's) of production and quality. Successfully load programs, set fixtures, touch off and setup tools along with operating the machine in a production capacity. Monitors and records machine processes, visually inspects product, record information as required, prepares product for release, and maintains and controls all quality equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Complete setup of the machine tool from loading programs, fixtures, setting tools, and proving out programs
- Ability to interpret G Code programming and have familiarity with CNC operations.
- Effectively troubleshoot issues related to setup, operation, tooling, and process.
- Perform/audit first/last article checks according to control plan.
- Keep accurate counts of all parts machined and document correct labor reporting.
- Report to floor lead any problems that may arise.
- Using computer to enter data and print labels.
- Ensure all labels are correct according to the work order information.
- Responsible for performing dimensional and visual quality checks.
- Responsible for proper handling and documentation of all qualified and rejected product.
- Responsible for the housekeeping of the CNC machine tool and surrounding areas.
- Maintains an open line of communication to assure all problems and changes are communicated and resolved in a timely manner.
- As requested, assist other team members in cross-training and conduct on-the-job training of other associates.
- Actively participates in Continuous Improvement teams and activities, including 5S & housekeeping.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned by manager.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficient in CAD preferably Solid Works
- Familiarity with Fusion 360 CAM software or equivalent
- Experience with Fanuc based CNC or equivalent preferably HAAS control.
- Use of machinist tools such as dial indicators, vises, jaws, fixtures, CT40 tooling, and inspection equipment.

Education and/or Experience: High School diploma or equivalent.
Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all unites of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and depth perception. Employee will be required to use such tools as, scrapper, pliers, x-acto knife, deburring tool, drills and tooling associated with CNC machining.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving and/or high temperature mechanical equipment and parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
