POSITION SUMMARY:
The MarTech Data Engineer is an experienced, data-driven professional with a passion for technology and transforming raw data into actionable insights. They play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining data infrastructure that powers business intelligence (BI) dashboards, reports, and analytics.
This role involves working with various reporting platforms such as Power BI, Looker Studio, and other BI tools to create insightful visualizations that support decision-making. The ideal candidate should be proficient in data analysis, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and data pipeline development while ensuring data integrity, scalability, and performance.
The MarTech Data Engineer will collaborate with stakeholders across different teams to understand business needs, optimize reporting solutions, and drive data-driven decision-making.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Develop, optimize, and maintain data pipelines and ETL workflows to support business intelligence reporting.
Design and build interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI, Looker Studio, and other visualization tools.
Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability across various reporting platforms.
Work with SQL and other cloud-based databases to extract, transform, and structure data efficiently.
Perform advanced data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and insights for business users.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs and provide actionable, user-friendly data solutions.
Monitor and optimize data performance and query efficiency for reporting systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve data quality issues, ensuring compliance with best practices and security policies.
Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in data engineering, analytics, and visualization tools.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
3+ years of experience in data engineering, business intelligence, or data analytics.
Proficiency in SQL for querying, data manipulation, and performance optimization.
Experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Looker Studio, Tableau, MongoDB (or similar)
Strong understanding of ETL processes, data modeling, and data warehousing concepts.
Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms such as Google BigQuery, Azure Synapse, or AWS Redshift.
Experience working with Python or other programming languages for data processing and automation.
Knowledge of APIs, JSON, and integration of multiple data sources into reporting platforms.
Experience working with data governance, security, and compliance best practices.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
Excellent communication skills for translating technical findings into business insights.
Knowledge of the yacht or boating industry is a plus but not required.
