Vulnerable children in the UK need your help
Wherever you work in the Action for Children family, you'll be helping to change the lives of the most vulnerable children in the UK.
Last year, we helped more than 688,000 children and families across the UK. From direct work in communities to national campaigning, we are focused on making sure every child has a safe and happy childhood, and the foundations they need to thrive.
Why Action for Children?
Working here is more than a job. Everyone in the Action for Children family is passionate about protecting and supporting children. It's the sense of purpose that drives us every single day. Because we know that, when we work together, we can make a huge difference to bring lasting improvements to vulnerable children's lives.
Our Family Hubs are vibrant, inclusive spaces offering vital early support to children, young people (0–19), and their families. We work in close partnership with health visitors, midwives, speech and language therapists, schools, and a wide range of community organisations to ensure every child has the best possible start in life.
We’re looking for a passionate and proactive Community Development Worker to help us deliver high-quality care, activities, and support across Worcestershire. You’ll be based at the WANDS Family Hub, with outreach work across South Worcestershire.

Build strong relationships with families and professionals, encouraging active participation
Provide 1:1 and group-based interventions tailored to individual needs
Safeguard children and escalate concerns appropriately
Organise and plan daily work objectives, including administrative tasks and report writing
Guide and support less experienced staff and volunteers
What We’re Looking For
Confidence in working independently across rural areas, a car and full driving licence are essential
Strong networking skills with the ability to build links with community partners
Experience organising community events and delivering sessions in outreach locations
Ability to attend, organise, and chair multi-agency meetings
Willingness to deliver antenatal parenting sessions (training provided)
