Responsibilities

- Create SSO project controls in alignment with all project management procedures.
- The ability to drive positive change and facilitate buy in from the organizations customers and direct reports. Be an engaged change leader for process and system improvements. This will enable the Substation Planning Department to manage projects efficiently in accordance with project management standards.
- Develop and deliver clear job roles and expectations. Assist in the recruitment, selection and development of personnel.
- Manages company and contractor forces supporting project controls
- Prepare quarterly presentations to senior leadership discussing Project Status
- Develop and maintain schedules and scheduling standards
- Respond with agility to changing business needs.
- Promote safety and operational excellence through project management excellence.
- Set project management standards within SSO in accordance with our procedures.
- Prepare and/or update capital budget white papers and appropriations in support of various SSO capital projects and programs.
- Maintain the SSO Project Management SharePoint site.
- Ensure human performance improvement tools are integrated in the planning and execution of projects to ensure safe and efficient operations.

- Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree and 5 or more years experience in the engineering, design, construction, operations, project management, and/or maintenance of substation or distribution systems. or
- Associate's Degree and 7 or more years experience in the engineering, design, construction, operations, project management, and/or maintenance of substation or distribution systems. or
- High School Diploma/GED and 9 or more years experience in the engineering, design, construction, operations, project management, and/or maintenance of substation or distribution systems.
- Possess strong oral and written communication skills and have the ability to effectively interact with internal and external customers, support staff, and various levels of management. Required
- Quick-learner and be able to think on their feet Required
- Well organized, detail-oriented, and flexible to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines. Required
- Capable of managing complex projects and rendering sound business decisions. Required
- Experience with or the ability to learn in depth knowledge of codes, standards, procedures and specifications Required
- Strong leadership skills and supervisory experience Required
- Strong computer skills and use of Microsoft Office applications, such as Excel and Word. Required
- In depth knowledge of P6. Preferred
- Familiarity with systems such as Maximo, Engage, OSS, CTSEOS, Oracle BI and Unifier. Preferred
- Driver's License Required
- Ability to respond to system emergencies
- Able to work in all weather conditions, i.e. excessive heat and/or cold
- Perform extended driving through heavy traffic and severe off-road conditions
- Work in, under, and on top of all types of company vehicles and/or equipment
- Ability to work in adverse conditions that include, noise, confined spaces, and high elevations
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs
- Ability to work on elevated platforms, scaffolds, catwalks, roofs, and/or other equipment
- Perform work in underground vaults through manholes
- Ability to work in inclement weather and adverse conditions (i.e., excessive heat, cold, noise, confined spaces)
- Ability to work with, and in, the vicinity of high voltage and/or other high-energy systems
- Stand, walk, and climb ladders and stairs for the duration of the workday
- Stand, walk, lift, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, and/or reach for the duration of the workday
- Ability to travel to company locations to work on storm restoration and heat contingencies
- Wear necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), i.e. fire-retardant clothing and safety harnesses
- Use personal vehicle(s), and be able to transport, store, and secure company laptops and other job-related equipment in vehicle. Acknowledge that reimbursement for use of personal vehicle is available through the company mileage procedure
- The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
