Atlas Molded Products is seeking a CNC Machine Operator for the Washington, IA facility.
4-10 hour shifts. Mon-Thurs 1:30pm to Midnight. Must be able to train on days.
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for operating CNC equipment in accordance with procedures to ensure optimum product quality.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties as assigned)
- General understanding of the manufacturing processes, quality standards, equipment operations, safety requirements and departmental procedures.
- Operates the CNC machine. May operate other equipment as assigned.
- Verify equipment set-up prior to start of a production run, operates and shuts down CNC equipment.
- Verifies order information and produces part(s) with the correct material, density, weight, size, and/or shape within geographic dimensions and tolerances to meet specific job requirements.
- Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and adheres to internal quality standards.
- Calculates best yield of raw material for machining parts.
- Monitors equipment adjusts settings and helps with troubleshooting. Reports malfunctions to supervisor; assists with routine cleaning.
- Maintains proper work logs and completes required reports as necessary.
- Bundles, wraps, stacks, packs, assembles and/or labels material per specific production instructions.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area.
- Adheres to safety procedures and regulations.
- Employees work independently and can direct employees within a small group within a production area.
- Performs any other functions and responsibilities as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
- Prior experience CNC machining experience preferred.
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Fluent in the English language, both written and spoken.
- Able to calculate volume and simple math and use basic handheld measuring tools including measuring tape and caliper.
- Skilled in operating CNC machinery
- Computer savvy with basic understanding of computer programming, and x and y axis
- Self-Motivated and able to work independently or in a team.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
- General Safety.
- Quality System Awareness.
- Must be verified by supervisor to be able to sign off on procedures needed to fulfill job requirements within 2 months of hire.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Light to moderate physical effort required including sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, climbing steps or ladders, grasping, fine and course manipulation, reaching both forward and above head level, and tolerant of temperature changes for the entire shift.
- Must be able to push, pull and/or lift up to 50 pounds; and safely operate assigned machinery.
