In this role, the Facilities Director for our Austin resort will be responsible for the strategic alignment, management and oversight of the daily operations of the facilities, grounds and security functions to create a safe and efficient work environment that improves business performance and optimizes staff productivity.

 

Duties for the Facilities Director will include directing the engineering, grounds and security departments, implementing policies and safety procedures, engaging with vendors and contractors, minimizing hazards, preparing facilities budgets and monitoring expenditures, providing on-site project management of capital improvement initiatives, testing equipment, and ensuring compliance with zoning laws. Your skills include directing facilities, grounds and security functions will assist our organization in creating integrated spaces, minimizing disruptions to overall business operations, improving working conditions, and creating a safe and comfortable environment for both staff and guests. You'll also serve as a member of the Executive Committee for the Austin property.

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU'LL DO AS A CANYON RANCH COLLEAGUE

  • Staff Supervision and Daily Operations: Directly manage and strategically aligns the engineering, security and grounds operations and staff.
    • Select, hire, train, schedule, counsel, terminate and conduct performance reviews for staff directly reporting to director; and ensures proper execution of these duties from all managers and supervisors in all areas of engineering, security and grounds departments.
    • Create and maintains department policy, procedure, and standards manuals.
    • Ensure consistency of performance and service standards.
    • Ensure appropriate job skills and safety training are conducted regularly.
    • Maintain a professional leadership style and mentors all levels of staff while directing the day-to-day operations of the engineering, grounds and security departments.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Responsible for planning and executing preventative maintenance program for facilities, vehicles and mechanical systems throughout the property.
  • Capital Improvement Projects: Provide on-site project management of all capital improvement projects, including multi-million dollar remodels and new construction projects.
    • Coordinates general contractors, and vendors, manages budgets, etc.
    • Works with managers throughout the property to develop Capex proposals for preparation of annual Capital Budget and special Capital Enhancement Budgets. 
  • Safety and Security Program: Responsible for the development and implementation of security and safety program for the entire property.
  • Critical Eye: Participate in Critical Eye Inspections and ensures timely completion of items noted.
    • Performs weekly property inspections to identify and schedule work for areas identified as needing attention.
Qualifications:

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

  • Significant specialized experience with 6-10 years’ experience in same or related field.
  • Education: Minimum High School diploma or equivalent. Preferred Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Texas Drivers License and acceptable driving record
  • Experience supervising six (6) or more full-time equivalent colleagues.
  • Knowledge of environmental concerns such as herbicide application, water usage, xeriscape planting.
    Knowledgeable in safety and OSHA regulations.
