We are seeking a seasoned IT Executive Leader to drive the strategy, implementation, and optimization of ERP systems and plant-based technologies for our automotive manufacturing operations. Reporting directly to the CIO, this leader will play a critical role in modernizing our technology landscape, ensuring seamless integration between enterprise platforms and production environments, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the value chain.
The ideal candidate has deep expertise in ERP (e.g., Infor, Epicor, Microsoft Dynamics) and plant systems (MES, SCADA, IoT), with proven experience in the automotive industry. This role requires a forward-thinking leader who understands the complexities of global supply chains, just-in-time (JIT) manufacturing, quality compliance, and the digital transformation opportunities shaping the automotive sector.
Job Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Define and execute the IT roadmap for ERP and plant systems, aligned with automotive manufacturing and supply chain strategies.
- Drive Industry 4.0 initiatives, including IoT-enabled smart factories, predictive analytics, and advanced automation.
- Partner with executive and operational leaders to enhance agility, reduce downtime, and optimize production efficiency.
- Serves as Business Relationship Manager to CFO and Americas President.
ERP Management
- Oversee ERP strategy, deployment, and continuous improvement, with emphasis on supply chain, inventory, production planning, and financial modules.
- Ensure ERP integration with global suppliers, logistics partners, and OEM systems.
- Lead ERP upgrades, standardization across plants, and vendor partnerships.
Plant Systems Oversight
- Manage plant-level systems such as MES, SCADA, IoT, and quality management platforms critical to automotive production.
- Ensure real-time production visibility, compliance with automotive quality standards (IATF 16949, ISO 9001), and traceability across the supply chain.
- Implement digital tools for predictive maintenance, defect tracking, and lean manufacturing initiatives.
Team & Vendor Leadership
- Build and lead a high-performing IT organization supporting ERP and plant systems across multiple automotive plants.
- Establish project governance, performance KPIs, and IT budget accountability.
- Manage vendor relationships with ERP providers, MES partners, and technology integrators specific to automotive manufacturing.
- Experience in global, multi-plant automotive operations (OEM or Tier 1 supplier experience strongly preferred).
Risk, Security, and Compliance
- Safeguard ERP and plant systems against cyber threats, especially in connected automotive manufacturing environments.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, data privacy requirements, and IT/OT security standards.
- Develop business continuity and disaster recovery strategies for mission-critical systems.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- 10+ years of IT leadership experience, including ERP and plant/manufacturing systems management, with at least 5 years in the automotive industry.
- Proven track record leading ERP implementations and optimizations.
- Strong understanding of automotive manufacturing processes, supply chain integration, and quality compliance standards.
- Expertise in MES, SCADA, IoT platforms, and smart manufacturing technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver digital transformation in complex manufacturing environments.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and change management skills.
Working Conditions:
- Physical Environment – Majority of the time is spent in an office space.
- Working Hours – Standard 40 hours a week. Overtime may be required based on business demands.
- Occupational Stress – This role may require meeting strict compliance deadlines and ensuring protection of sensitive data.
- Health and Safety – This role often requires extended periods of sitting at a desk and looking at a computer screen. Using proper ergonomic office equipment and taking breaks to stand and/or stretch is beneficial.
