Job summary: 

As Product Designer - Sr. Associate on the 55ip Product Design team you will be apart of a growing team of multi-skilled product designers. You be driving user-centered design and modern development practices within product teams, using lean UX principles, spearheading design thinking workshops, and delivering solutions that help to improve the lives of people we work with across our product lines. You will work with other designers in creation and critique, and be proactively collaborating with developers and PMs/POs to deliver strong value-adding solutions with measurable outcomes. You will openly discuss topics like ethics in design and cognitive bias in new technologies, and show your product teams why those topics matter. 

Job responsibilities:

Design and prototype user-centric interfaces with rapid testing and iteration

Perform research, business requirements gathering, stakeholder interviews, and usability testing

Support Software Developers and Product teams while evolving designs during discovery to understand how designs translate to delivery / implementation

Understand and apply accessibility to designs 

Communicate and articulate the value of product design and the rationale behind your research process and design decisions, bringing the team along your journey

Support the team in building out outcome-driven best practices that have strong roots in the methodology 

Required qualifications, skills & capabilities:

  • 3-5 years of experience in design
  • 3-5 years of experience working in agile/lean methodologies and facilitating design thinking workshops
  • 3-5 years of experience performing generative research as well as usability and validity testing
  • 3-5 years of experience presenting to stakeholders, with excellent stakeholder management and partnership skills – including the ability to advocate for design and product best practices.
  • Expertise with building out, growing, and implementing complex design systems, including coordination with developers
  • Basic understanding of front-end technologies like Material Design, React, Bootstrap, and AG Grid
  • Must have a portfolio or case studies available for review

Required qualifications, skills & capabilities:

  • BA/BS in UX. HCI, or related field preferred
  • Experience building Fintech and Wealth products or platforms
  • Expertise with UX software and supporting tools – Figma, JIRA/Confluence, user testing tools, analytics tools
