As a Coating Advisor, you’ll be the trusted expert on-site, ensuring our world-class coatings are applied to perfection. Whether it’s a massive marine vessel, a wind turbine, or Industrial facilities, you’ll be at the heart of the action—guiding applicators, distributors, contractors, engineers, and consultants to deliver long-lasting performance.
You’ll work across industries like Marine, Energy, and Infrastructure, helping customers solve challenges, optimize results, and unlock the full potential of Hempel’s solutions.
You’ll be part of a dedicated team of Coating Advisors, collaborating closely with Sales, R&D, Customer Care, and other internal teams to deliver a seamless, high-quality experience for our customers—every step of the way.
This role will be based in Germany, (Papenburg or Bremen) the and will report to our Area Manager Service Operations, France, Benelux, DACH, Greece, Romania, Bulgaria & Africa.
What will be some of the Key Responsibilities in this role?
As a Coating Advisor, you’ll apply our technical know-how and comprehensive documentation to support project success, by offering clear guidance, expert insights, and hands-on assistance with the application of Hempel products.
You’ll also act as an ambassador for our brand and product lines, effectively communicating the features and benefits of our full portfolio to ensure customers recognize the value we deliver.
- Ensure that all applications are following our Product Data Sheets, working specifications, relevant technical and industrial standards, working procedures, and best painting/application practices
- Manage sophisticated, large-scale projects, ensuring they run efficiently from start to finish.
- Prepare and share detailed daily progress reports and final reports with relevant stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
- Promote Hempel’s Coating Solutions by communicating the benefits of our services and delivering beneficial solutions to customers.
- Support internal and external initiatives related to services strategy and balanced solutions.
- Conduct training, condition surveys, line inspection surveys, and assist with troubleshooting and resolution of any issues.
What are we Looking For?
- Degree in Engineering (Construction, Marine, Chemical, Metallurgy) or equivalent practical experience within coating industry
- FROSIO or NACE certification is highly preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills in English, with the ability to use technical terminology.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with customers, representing Hempel on-site with integrity.
- Highly adaptable to dynamic environments, with the flexibility to work across teams and project types.
- Shows initiative, ownership, and the ability to manage time-sensitive situations with confidence.
- Must hold a valid driving license.
