About the Role
Join Babcock Australasia at the forefront of engineering innovation as our new Technology Manager. Based in our dynamic Engineering and Technology hub in Abbotsford, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our technical capabilities across Defence and commercial sectors.
In this role, you’ll lead the development of technology strategies and business cases, manage high-impact projects, and collaborate with research organisations, SMEs, universities, and our global technology team. Your work will help protect our business from disruptive technologies, enhance our current offerings, and unlock new market opportunities.
You’ll be responsible for applying engineering processes and tools to deliver complex technical outcomes, while also contributing to product safety, risk management, and compliance. As a key technical leader, you’ll guide investigations, present insights to stakeholders, and support the growth of our engineering talent.

To be successful, you will bring:
- Australian Citizenship with a Defence security clearance (or the ability to obtain one).
- Hold an accredited (under the Washington Accord) Bachelors degree in Engineering.
- Member of a relevant engineering body with chartered status.
- Relevant experience in relatable technical/engineering role.
- Experience in leading a Technology Portfolio.
- Experience working collaboratively with Universities, DST or other research establishments.
- Experience working with the UK or in an International team.
