IT Helpdesk Technician (Temp role)

Duration: 6 months 

Job description:

We are seeking a (Temp) IT Helpdesk Technician to join our IT team.

This role provides Tier 1 technical support to employees, assists with IT asset management processes, and supports seamless staff onboarding and offboarding. You’ll be the first point of contact for technical issues and a key player in ensuring users have the right equipment, accounts, and support to do their best work.

Responsibilities:

1. Technical Support (Tier 1)

  • Serve as the first point of contact for IT support via ticketing system, email, or in-person requests.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve common issues with hardware, operating systems, applications, collaboration tools, and networking.
  • Escalate more complex issues to Tier 2/3 or vendors when necessary.

2. IT Asset Management (Support Role)

  • Assist with maintaining accurate inventory of laptops, peripherals, and software licenses.
  • Help with deployment, collection, and tracking of IT hardware.
  • Support the IT team in preparing assets for audits or refresh cycles.
  • Ensure proper documentation of asset assignments and returns.

3. Onboarding & Offboarding

  • Prepare and configure IT equipment for new hires (laptops, monitors, accessories).
  • Assist in creating and configuring accounts, email, MFA, and collaboration tools.
  • Conduct IT orientation with new employees.
  • Collect and verify return of IT assets and access credentials during offboarding.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field
  • A highly analytical and curious mind with a passion for learning and troubleshooting
  • Experience with modern IT products and services (SaaS is a plus)
  • Experience working in a Helpdesk environment
  • Interest in the security industry and doing IT securely
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to articulate technical problems and projects to both technical and non-technical teams
  • And above all, a pragmatic problem solver with a passion for technology and service
