The PACE Epic Training Analyst plays a critical role in delivering effective and comprehensive training on the Epic electronic health record (EHR) system and other applications utilized by the PACE program. This position bridges clinical expertise with technical proficiency to ensure seamless adoption, optimal utilization, and continued user competency across all platforms critical to PACE operations.
Compensation: $31.09 – $32.64 an hour
Schedule is Monday – Friday, working from 8:00am – 5:00pm
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop role-based training content, independently or with team members, using a variety of software programs, tools, and learning management systems (LMS).
- Design, develop and maintain instructional materials.
- Maintain policy and procedure documentation.
- Learn new content and consult with subject matter experts (SMEs) to design, develop and maintain instructional training materials.
- Assist with building and testing of training environments and provide support, and troubleshoot issues.
- Collaborate with other trainers by co-facilitating classroom instruction and assisting with exercises as needed.
- Prepare training lessons and print materials; set up the training environment to allow for conducive learning.
- Present information verbally and in writing in a clear and easy-to-understand manner, and answer any participant questions.
- Follow up with trainees outside of the classroom to offer additional support.
- Serve as an expert educator to internal staff.
- Train and credential additional application trainers as needed.
- Train staff and end users by teaching technical topics as needed.
- Manage projects by priority, and create and adhere to timelines.
- Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Physical Demands
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to hear staff on the phone and those who are served in-person, and speak clearly in order to communicate information to clients and staff.
- Must be able to have vision that is adequate to read memos, a computer screen, and administrative documents.
- Must have high manual dexterity.
- Must be able to squat and sit, stand, stoop, crouch, reach, twist, turn, finer and feel.
Work Environment
The physical environment requires the employee to work indoors, in both an office and clinical setting. The noise level inside is quiet to average. Use of general office equipment is required on a daily basis. Travel may be required at times.
Education/Experience Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Must be able to maintain professionalism and react to customers appropriately while exhibiting high level of customer service.
- Solid understanding of clinical workflows and terminology in an ambulatory setting.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
- Working knowledge of EMRs and other healthcare applications.
- Strong understanding of healthcare business processes and technology preferred.
- Healthcare IT experience in ambulatory care settings a definite plus.
- Working knowledge of IT solutions and interfacing a definite plus.
- Valid California driver’s license, vehicle insurance, reliable transportation and acceptable driving record.
Education/Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum two (2) years’ of work experience, supporting HIT applications required.
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience providing direct support in employee training required.
- Four (4) years’ experience working with EHRs preferred.
- Must acquire Epic Principal Trainer certification within 6 months of employment, adhering to the maximum number of exam attempts allowed by Epic's policy.
- Continuous maintenance of Epic certifications is a mandatory requirement.
