We are seeking a Manager, Mortgage Collections & Loss Mitigation for the NOLA Home Loan Resolution & Recovery Department.
The Resolution and Recovery Manager oversees the daily operations of a team of employees engaged in the negotiation, documentation and coordination of real estate loan workouts including both retention and non-retentions options. This role holds primary responsibility for the application of the appropriate loss mitigation strategies up to and including the management of real estate owned properties to minimize loss to the credit union. This individual must have extensive knowledge of mortgage servicing regulation and real estate law as it applies to collection and loss mitigation for real estate loans. The use of critical thinking skills and the ability to solve problems as they develop is required. The role requires understanding and continued education of all internal and external policies and procedures, federal and state regulations and investor guidelines. Competence and continued education and development of technical skills and systems used to perform the duties of this role are required.

Highlights:
- Act as the subject matter expert in the area of Collections, Loss Mitigation, Hardship Modification, Foreclosure and Real Estate Owned properties.
- Provide support, direction and development of the Home Loan Collectors and Collection Specialist.
- Develop strategies to improve loan delinquency.
- Provide training to Collections and Underwriting Staff.
- Participate in and complete special projects as assigned.
Experience:
Required
- Five years of progressive experience in real estate default and loss mitigation.
Education:
Required
- College Degree in related field or equivalent combination of default risk management.
Licenses & Certifications:
Required
- Requires eligibility to be registered as a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) with the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) and Registry.
Preferred
- NMLS Registered
Skills & Knowledge:
Required
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to lead and develop team members.
- Extensive knowledge of servicing and collection requirements for federal, state, investor, and private mortgage insurance programs.
- Experience and ability to apply concepts related to real estate lending, collections and loss mitigation practices.
- Ability to handle elevated member interactions with empathy and dignity.
- Ability to work with legal representation, litigated cases and mediation.
- Knowledge of real estate loan servicing and management of bankruptcy.
- Understanding of FDCPA, FCRA, SCRA, RESPA and Privacy Act.
- Full understanding of real estate and mortgage documentation.
- Knowledge of Real Estate Owned remarketing and maintenance.
- Ability to manage to required levels of productivity, department standards and objectives.
- Computer skills to include Excel, Word and Outlook.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 am-5:30 pm
Salary Range: $75,987.00 to $80,000.00 Annually. Bonus potential up to 7.5%
Flexibility: In office, on site; not remote or hybrid
