Strata-G is seeking an experienced Engineer with the following:

Summary:

Strata-G is seeking highly skilled and motivated Engineers to join our nuclear design team in Oak Ridge, TN. The ideal candidates will combine expertise in manufacturing, industrial, information and control (I&C), electrical, and mechanical engineering to support critical production activities in a highly regulated and secure environment. This position requires an active Department of Energy (DOE) "Q" clearance or the ability to obtain one.

  • Serve as a key contributor to all phases of the product life cycle, from design to review to production and sustainment.
  • Analyze and optimize production processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality, leveraging lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Design and develop manufacturing processes and tooling, collaborating with cross-functional teams including Research & Development, Quality, and Procurement.
  • Perform root cause analysis for manufacturing issues, implementing effective engineering changes and process improvements.
  • Contribute to facility and plant layout planning, production support, and logistics for supply chains and shipments.
  • Ensure all manufacturing operations adhere to stringent quality and safety systems, including NQA-1, ISO-TS, or AS9001 standards.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing procedures and documentation, ensuring compliance with all company policies, security protocols, and environmental and safety program requirements.
  • Manage project deliverables to ensure they are met within defined scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Provide technical support for the installation of new equipment and the continued operation of existing production systems.
  • Support compliance with all security directives associated with an access-controlled, nuclear-regulated environment.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 3 to 6 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing engineering role.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, I&C, Electrical, or a related field from an ABET-accredited institution. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Security Clearance: Must possess an active DOE "Q" clearance or an equivalent DoD "Top Secret" clearance. Applicants without a current clearance must be a U.S. citizen and able to successfully obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" clearance.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Understanding of applications in CAD and 3D modeling software (e.g., SolidWorks) and experience with quality management systems (QMS).
    • Experience with lean manufacturing and statistical analysis.
    • Strong background in industrial, mechanical, and manufacturing engineering principles.
    • Familiarity with materials requirements planning (MRP) systems (e.g., SAP) is preferred.

Additional Requirements:

  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interface with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, including production personnel, management, and government representatives.
  • Work Environment: Ability to work in a secure production environment, including adherence to all conduct-of-engineering, operational, and safety standards. Experience in a nuclear or other highly regulated environment is preferred.
