The Senior Regulatory Compliance Analyst plays a key role in ensuring our organization meets regulatory and legislative requirements while advancing enterprise initiatives. This role leads complex compliance program activities, provides expert analysis, and partners cross-functionally to navigate regulatory, political, and business challenges. The analyst also serves as a trusted advisor to business partners and external regulatory agencies/commissions.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor compliance analysts in developing and implementing compliance programs, including policies, audits, surveys, and multi-state filings.
- Collaborate with business partners to shape regulatory filing strategies for forms, rates, networks, and entity filings.
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis of state-specific regulations, legislation, and filing requirements.
- Develop and maintain compliance and regulatory processes, including oversight and monitoring functions.
- Partner across teams to ensure timely execution of deliverables, providing transparency to subject matter experts.
- Review regulator findings and objections, prepare clear communications for impacted business areas, and support response development.
- Communicate regulatory and legislative changes to the business and guide implementation.
- Report on compliance program performance, including KPIs, risks, and accomplishments.
- Collaborate with teams to implement procedures or design new products that comply with regulatory standards.
- Support insurance compliance through monitoring tools, audits, and enforcement activities as needed.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- 4+ years of regulatory compliance experience.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred. High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience with health insurance regulation is strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of healthcare industry issues, compliance, audit, or risk management functions.
- Working knowledge of insurance terminology and filing systems such as System for Electronic Rate and Form Filings (SERFF) and other portals is preferred.
- Ability to analyze complex regulatory requirements, identify risks, and recommend solutions.
- Excellent organizational, prioritization, and analytical skills; detail-oriented with the ability to drive outcomes in ambiguous environments.
- Skilled communicator with strong verbal and written abilities; able to influence and build trust across functions.
- Growth mindset, adaptability, and ability to think strategically and innovatively.
- Experience with Westlaw/legal research databases, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Privacy compliance experience is a plus!
Base Pay Information
The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental’s assessment of the candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications, and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity.
Pay Grade 20. $71,400 - $149,500
