Qualifications and requirements
The Scheduling and Eligibility Specialist assumes responsibility for knowing the details of scheduling surgeries and studies assumes the responsibility for verifying patient eligibility, coordinating benefits, and determining patient coverage and responsibility for services.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Coursework in medical terminology preferred.
- Two (2) or more years working in a hospital Admissions/Registration Department and patient care healthcare setting required.
- Must possess knowledge of Commercial and Medicaid insurances.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.No Minimum Experience
- Certification or completion courses must meet the standards of Memorial Medical Center.
