Role and Responsibilities: The primary responsibility of the Corporate Life Sales Specialist is to work closely with the agent field force to assist in their sales efforts. This individual will create and conduct sales presentations to the field for the introduction and promotion of new and existing life products. They will need to maintain close relationships to the field and other home office departments in order to support the Marketing goals and objectives. This individual will also provide sales expertise to all functions of the Product Marketing Department.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and deliver motivational, sales, and product training presentations at state, district and agency level meetings. These presentations are developed ad hoc based on the training needs of our field force.
  • Develop training materials related to sales and products offered by SFBLI (i.e. initial introductory packets for new products, which include sales techniques, prospecting, product guidelines, commission schedule, etc.).
  • Develop and maintain a strong relationship with the field force and field management in order to provide sales advice, tools and techniques to the field force in their efforts to sell the life insurance and annuity products offered by SFBLI and our brokerage outlets. This requires a high level of understanding on all aspects of the daily activities of the field force including field management.
  • Serve on and represent Marketing on home office committees and projects with outside vendors (i.e. the development of life insurance and annuity illustration system, E-App System, and other sales tools available at SFBLI) as assigned by the Manager or Director of Product Marketing.
  • Provide sales expertise to the Manager, Product Marketing as needed in the promotion, development and maintenance of the product presentations, product brochures, training material, and advertisements.
  • Provide technical input in the development and maintenance of LifeSales, Connections, other agent tools, company rules and procedures, contests and commissions and the Advertising Tool Kit that benefit the field force in all aspects of their daily job.
  • Monitor and communicate SFBLI sales data and industry trends to better assist the field force in their sales efforts and help establish the direction for Marketing concerns and goals.
  • Assist in the development of advertising and sales brochures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in a business-related field OR Five years’ experience as a multi-line sales agent Three years of experience with SFBLIC
  • Three years of experience as a multi-line sales agent
  • Must be a consistent life sales contestant qualifier (i.e. All Star, Round Table, Winner’s Challenge, etc.), preferred
  • Proficient knowledge of life insurance and annuity products
  • Proficient knowledge of the entire sales process including application completion and submission along with advanced knowledge illustration and application submission systems
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Extensive travel is required
  • Ability to read, interpret, and communicate various regulations and laws regarding the insurance advertising compliance
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with management, other company personnel, and the agency force
  • Ability to present to and work with all levels of management
  • Highly motivated/self-starter
  • Strong decision-making skills
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Good organizational skills
