Cash Applications Specialist na Fortune Fish & Gourmet

Summary of Position:

The Cash Application Specialist is responsible for accurately applying incoming payments—including checks, ACH/wire transfers, and credit card transactions—to customer accounts in a timely and efficient manner. This position plays a key role in supporting the company's cash flow by ensuring payments are applied correctly and promptly, while identifying opportunities to improve the cash application process.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately post cash receipts including checks, ACH/wire transfers, and credit card transactions on a daily basis.
• Review and work the Unapplied Cash Report to ensure funds are properly applied to outstanding invoices.
• Scan checks into the bank and maintain tracking for any rejected or returned payments.
• Generate reports such as daily, weekly, or monthly summaries of outstanding payments or unapplied cash.
• Identify areas for improvement in the cash application process and recommend solutions. 
• Other duties as assigned by the Cash Applications Supervisor.

Minimum Requirements:

• Education – Associates Degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience – One year or more of cash application experience.  
• Work ethic – A sense of urgency in meeting critical and time sensitive deadlines.
• Technical: Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office products required, especially Excel and Outlook. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.
• Teamwork: Strong interpersonal skill required to function within the accounting team.
• A combination of the above will also be considered.
