SUMMARY 

The Machine Shop Foreman oversees daily Machine Shop schedule, operations and staff. Works with Lead Programmer to troubleshoot issues with programing, end product parts. Reports to the Machine Shop Manager

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensures that machined parts meet customer specifications, drawings and STP files
  • Provides direction for machine set-up, material loading, machine operation and schedule
  • Manages flow of raw materials, in-process part inspection, deburring of parts
  • Oversees maintenance of equipment, shop cleanliness, and tooling inventory
  • Ensures that work areas are kept clean, organized and free of debris and scrap
  • Acts as internal resource for troubleshooting and problem resolution
  • Maintains operational efficiency of entire Machine Shop
• PERSONNEL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Consults with the Machine Shop Manager to establish shop schedule, operational goals
  • Oversees personnel professional development (mentoring, training, career growth)
  • Works with Machine Shop Manager to balance personnel workloads
  • Identifies and communicates staffing requirements
  • Assists in candidate interviews and selection during hiring process
  • Conducts annual employee performance reviews

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Required Education: Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent degree
• Minimum 6 years relevant industry experience
• Demonstrated strong mechanical aptitude required and hands-on engineering experience in a fabrication and assembly shop environment
• Ability to read and generate blueprints, drawings, and technical diagrams
• Familiarity with basic material properties, in process verification and validation
• Must be proficient in GD&T
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
