Signature Aviation, a global leader in aviation services, is seeking an experienced and innovative Director of Executive Protection to develop and lead a new premium executive protection offering. This role will focus on ensuring the safety, security, and comfort of high-profile and high-net-worth guests as they move through our Fixed Base Operator (FBO) locations worldwide. The Director will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing a world-class executive protection service that enhances the guest experience while upholding the highest standards of safety, discretion, and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Develop a Premium Executive Protection Offering: Create a comprehensive executive protection program tailored to the unique needs of Signature Aviation’s high-profile guests, ensuring secure, discreet, and seamless transitions through FBOs and beyond. This includes defining the service tiers of this new offering (e.g., meet-and-greet, close protection, secure ground transport, advance/site security) with clear SLAs and specifications.
- Strategic Planning: Design and implement security protocols, policies, and procedures to mitigate risks, including physical, operational, and reputational threats, across global FBO operations.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct thorough risk assessments of FBO facilities, travel routes, and itineraries to identify vulnerabilities and implement proactive mitigation strategies, while maintaining dynamic risk profiles for key locations and recurring itineraries.
- Guest Experience Integration: Collaborate with guest service and operations teams to ensure protection measures align with Signature Aviation’s commitment to luxury, efficiency, and guest satisfaction.
- Vendor and Partner Management: Build relationships with third-party security firms, technology providers, and local law enforcement to enhance protection capabilities and ensure compliance with global regulations. Establish a vetted global provider network with master service agreements, rate cards, and performance SLAs.
- Compliance and Standards: Ensure all executive protection practices comply with federal, state, and international regulations, as well as industry standards for aviation security (e.g., TSA, FAA, ICAO).
- Incident Management: Oversee rapid response to security incidents, including investigations, reporting, and coordination with authorities, while ensuring minimal disruption to guest experiences.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with executive leadership, FBO General managers, and guests to align protection services with business objectives and guest expectations, ensuring a tailored and high-touch experience. Partner with the NOC to integrate real-time monitoring, travel tracking, and threat intelligence; brief ELT on risk posture and key movements as appropriate.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in executive protection, security management, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably in aviation, hospitality, or high-net-worth client services.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in security management, criminal justice, business administration, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., CPP, PSP) preferred.
- Skills:
- Proven expertise in designing and implementing executive protection programs from inception to execution.
- Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, with a focus on collaboration, communication, and mentoring.
- Advanced knowledge of risk assessment, threat analysis, and crisis management in dynamic environments.
- Familiarity with aviation security regulations (TSA, FAA, ICAO) and best practices in executive protection.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills to engage with high-profile clients, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in integrating and leveraging advanced security technologies and data-driven decision-making.
- Travel: Willingness to travel frequently to Signature Aviation’s FBO locations worldwide to oversee program implementation and operations.
Additional knowledge and skills:
- Global/international experience and multi-site program leadership strongly preferred.
- Experience launching new service lines or special operations programs is highly desirable.
- Experience in luxury hospitality, private aviation, or high-net-worth client protection services.
- Established network with law enforcement, government agencies, or private security firms globally.
- Knowledge of global security trends, emerging threats, and cutting-edge technologies in executive protection.
