The ideal candidate will have experience in performing routine Street Maintenance activities such as road maintenance, asphalt and concrete repairs; and operating and maintaining light equipment. Knowledge of roadway traffic control and construction safety will also be required.
- Be a builder: Get your hands dirty with routine construction activities, assisting with asphalt patching and concrete labor on city streets.
- Maintain our roadways: Operate power tools and heavy equipment like excavators, backhoes, and tractors to maintain and repair our streets and rights-of-way.
- Protect our natural beauty: Help clean and clear our scenic washes and natural drains, contributing to the health and beauty of our desert landscape.
- Keep the city moving: Operate a variety of trucks and equipment in accordance with safety procedures, ensuring smooth operations for all.
- Be a team player: Collaborate closely with colleagues to get the job done right, providing exceptional customer service to internal and external customers along the way.
- Ensure safety and quality: Perform daily vehicle inspections and maintenance, and promote safe practices in all daily tasks.
- You have a high school diploma or GED and some experience in construction and street maintenance.
- You have a Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a tanker endorsement, or you are ready to obtain one with support from the city.
- You're able to perform manual labor for extended periods and are comfortable working in various weather conditions.
- You understand and follow specific instructions and possess a strong work ethic.
- You meet and maintain required training for Forklift and Flagger Certification.
- You have a valid driver’s license.
