Position Summary
The Emergency Medicine Training Center offers comprehensive Basic Life Support (BLS) education and serves as a key training site for various essential certifications. Our classes attract a diverse group of students and are available in multiple settings, providing both initial certifications and renewals for the public and healthcare providers alike.
As for EMS Faculty, you will be crucial in coordinating courses and managing logistics to provide seamless support for our instructors and students. You'll ensure the efficient operation of our online platforms and student enrollment processes, contributing to the delivery of high-quality education and training that prepares students for state and national certification exams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.
· Manage and update the agency website, ensuring accurate and current information.
· Administer the agency database, maintaining precise records for all courses and students.
· Oversee the enrollment process for all courses, from initial inquiries to registration completion.
· Instruct AHA BLS courses.
· Obtain DC DOH Instructor certification upon hire.
· Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software programs.
· Provide course records for accuracy and issue BLS certification cards.
· Monitor course feedback through review of paperwork and, in coordination with Training Staff, institute necessary changes.
· Communicate with contracted instructors and Training Center Staff regarding course quality assurance, skills deficiencies, or other course delivery problems.
· Ensure training equipment readiness through weekly checks and decontamination procedures, including manikin preparation.
· Assist with post-course processing and general administrative duties as permitted by the teaching schedule.
Qualifications

Education
The candidate must also be at minimum a Nationally Registered EMT or higher and hold a current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider/Instructor. It is preferred to have a minimum of 2 years of college coursework in one of the following disciplines: Education, Healthcare, Nursing, EMS Management and/or a combination of education and training that will allow the individual to be successful.
Experience
The candidate must have a minimum of two (2) years’ field or clinical experience as a healthcare provider or pre-hospital provider.
Competencies
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate providing verbal feedback in a professional manner. Must be able to follow and understand instructions and react favorably in all work situations. Must have strong interpersonal skills and be mentally adaptable and flexible in dealing with a variety of people at various levels within and outside the Medical Faculty Associates (MFA). The candidate must be available to work weekdays, evenings and weekends, be able to work independently and have skills in working and collaborating as part of a team.
