Description
Vistra has an opening for a Research Analyst to support Department of Defense (DoD) clients within the Personnel & Readiness organization. The Research Analyst will investigate, analyze, and evaluate policies, programs, and procedures that relate to integrated primary prevention of harmful behaviors in the military. This position applies understanding of social science disciplines, research methodology, and statistics to develop solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. This position will work independently with some guidance to ensure high fidelity of research activities and their applicability in the military context.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conduct literature reviews, assess research quality, and synthesize findings and recommendations.
- Support DoD social science, public health, and workplace climate research efforts, including program evaluations, focus groups, organizational climate surveys, etc.
- Interpret statistical findings and present data and research results to non-technical audiences.
- Utilize quantitative and qualitative research methods and program evaluation methodologies
- Provide clear verbal and written communications to a variety of stakeholders in alignment with DoD style expectations
- Prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment
Requirements
- Doctoral degree in public health, sociology, epidemiology, or a related social science field and 3+ years directly related experience
Additional preferred qualifications:
- Experience developing, implementing, and evaluating health promotion policies and programs
- Experience working in a military environment
- Active or recent DoD clearance or suitability determination, or ability to obtain a security clearance
