Join Pengate as our Infrastructure Team Lead! This position is ideal for an experienced IT professional with a strong background in cloud technologies, networking, and security within a medium-to-large business environment. As a senior member of the team, you’ll provide operational support across multiple locations, lead and mentor a small team, and drive the adoption of modern infrastructure practices. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams while staying ahead of industry trends to ensure our systems remain secure, scalable, and resilient.
What You’ll Do
- Lead, mentor, and collaborate with the infrastructure team to ensure consistent, high-quality operational support, excellent customer service, and effective incident resolution across multiple business locations.
- Oversee and manage escalated infrastructure tickets, ensuring prompt response and resolution of complex IT support requests while maintaining service level agreements and performance standards.
- Establish, document, and enforce infrastructure policies, procedures, and best practices, promoting operational efficiency, consistency, and compliance with industry standards.
- Analyze key infrastructure performance metrics and security reports to proactively identify areas for improvement, mitigate risk, and ensure the health, performance, and security of IT systems.
- Manage and continuously optimize the organization’s cloud infrastructure, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure, ensuring it remains scalable, secure, and cost-effective to meet evolving business needs.
- Serve as a senior technical escalation point, providing hands-on support and expert guidance to resolve critical or high-impact technical issues across the network, server, and cloud environments.
- Act as the primary liaison between the infrastructure team and other internal IT and business units, ensuring smooth communication, alignment of priorities, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Support team growth through recruiting, onboarding, and mentoring new infrastructure staff, contributing to skills development and long-term team success.
- Provide timely, constructive input for performance evaluations, coaching team members on both technical and professional development goals.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in IT infrastructure, cloud, and cybersecurity, and make proactive recommendations to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
- Perform other related duties and special projects assigned, contributing to the overall success of the IT organization.

Technology Experience:
- Microsoft Azure
- Microsoft 365 Administration
- Cloud Security Principles
- Network design and support (DHCP, DNS, Routing, VLANS, Wireless Access Points)
- Windows Server Administration (Active Directory, Group Policy, RDP)
- Virtualization technology such as Hyper-V or VMware
- Identity and Access Management
Programming Languages:
- PowerShell
- Bash
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field
(An equivalent combination of education, certifications, and relevant experience may be considered.) - 5–7 years of progressive experience in IT Infrastructure, including hands-on work with networking, cloud platforms (especially Microsoft Azure), and system administration
- At least 1–2 years of experience in a supervisory, team lead, or senior technical advisory role, with proven ability to mentor and guide technical staff
- Experience managing or supporting enterprise-scale environments, including multi-site or hybrid cloud infrastructures
- Strong background in cloud technologies, cybersecurity best practices, and network performance optimization
- Prior experience collaborating with IT teams and business units in medium to large-sized organizations
