Job Title: Quality/ Custodial Support 

Immediate Supervisor: Quality Supervisor

Job Purpose:

Responsible for carrying out various lab procedures/tests and running lab equipment to ensure products meet specifications, as well as food safety and quality requirements. Additionally, carries out janitorial duties. Will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing offices, meeting rooms, bathrooms and breakrooms.

Skills and Qualifications:

Lab Tech – General Qualifications include, but are not limited to:

• Shall have attended a Chemical Safety Training session within the past 12 months.
• Shall have attended a GMP, FSMA, Food Defense Awareness and Allergen Training.
• Shall meet all requirements of the SQF Program.
• Shall comply with all GMP Requirements.
• Shall comply with all requirements for Personal Protective Equipment as defined by appropriate plant procedures.
• Shall comply with all Safety Rules and Policies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Lab Technician Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Technician shall be trained in all laboratory procedures that are utilized in the operation in regards to both food safety and quality.
• The Technician shall be trained and qualified to operate the Laboratory Equipment including Calibration Techniques for each piece of equipment utilized in the Food Safety and Quality Program.
• Technician shall be fully trained and qualified in the appropriate methods of testing as per procedure. 
• All testing results will be entered int the appropriate log and signed by the Technician.
• Technician shall follow all GMP, Safety and Work Policies.
• Technician is to notify immediate supervisor when deviations occur.

 Janitorial Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum.
• Empty trash receptacles and replace liners.
• Refill soap dispensers, paper towel holders and toilet paper.
• Clean windows, mirrors and glass surfaces.
• Monitor and report maintenance or repair needs.
• Follow all safety procedures and use cleaning chemicals properly.
• Maintain cleaning equipment and supply inventory.

Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, stand or walk for prolonged periods of time. The employee will be required to operate a computer and keyboard; have visual acuity to review written documentation; ability to hear and understand speech; manual dexterity to operate a telephone; lift horizontally and vertically, bend and stoop.
